Duncan Craig LLP has built its reputation not only on exceptional legal services but also on a deep-rooted commitment to the communities it serves—making a lasting impact in Edmonton and beyond.   

The firm traces its roots back to 1894, founded by William Short, who later became Edmonton’s first mayor, and Charles Cross, Alberta’s first Attorney General. As one of the oldest law firms in Alberta and among the most community-driven, Duncan Craig LLP is proudly celebrating over 130 years of serving clients and communities.

  • An in-house community giving committee

Beyond charitable contributions, Duncan Craig LLP sponsors numerous community events each year, including:

  • Edmonton Folk Music Festival – A proud supporter for over 40 years, including sponsorship of the Emerging Artists category, awarding funds to three musicians to advance their careers.
  • Scotiabank 25th Annual Charity Golf Classic – Supporting since its inception, last year $125k funds were raised in support of the Ben Stelter Foundation.
  • Pilgrims Hospice Society – A three year supporter of their Hike for Pilgrims Hospice, an annual family and pet-friendly walk event to support end-of-life care and grief support in the greater Edmonton community.
  • Edmonton Chamber’s “Pancakes with the Chamber” at the Canadian Finals Rodeo – A recent partnership reflecting their commitment to celebrating the events that make Edmonton a great place to live, work, and play.
