Edmonton Chamber of Commerce Sets Bold Advocacy Agenda for 2025
January 13, 2025
EDMONTON, AB — The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is rolling out its 2025 priorities, focusing on tackling the real challenges facing Edmonton’s business community. From driving growth and innovation to creating more opportunities for local businesses, these priorities are about making Edmonton a better place to do business and supporting the hardworking people behind it all.
“These priorities aren’t just about ideas—they’re about action,” said Doug Griffiths, CEO of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. “We’re here to ensure Edmonton businesses have what they need to compete, thrive, and succeed in a rapidly changing world.”
This year’s plan focuses on four key areas:
Investing in Infrastructure
The Chamber is pushing for smarter investments in the infrastructure Edmonton businesses rely on every day. From better roads and transit to revitalizing downtown spaces, these upgrades are about making it easier to do business while improving the city we all call home.
Keeping Edmonton Competitive
To make Edmonton the top choice for businesses and talent, the Chamber is working to cut unnecessary red tape, promote the city as a global hub for business, and attract the investments that create jobs and growth.
Demanding Fiscal Responsibility
Every dollar counts, and the Chamber is holding all orders of government accountable for responsible spending that supports the business community. Clear and efficient budgeting isn’t just good policy—it’s good for business. Every dollar spent, should have a return of twice or more it’s worth.
Boosting Trade and Investment
Edmonton has the potential to be a global powerhouse for trade. The Chamber will be strongly advocating to secure trade agreements and advance policies that open doors to international markets, helping local businesses grow beyond borders.
“This plan is rooted in the realities of running a business in Edmonton,” Griffiths added. “It’s about solving the challenges our members face every day and ensuring they have a strong voice at the table.”
