A Year of Transformation: Thank You for Helping Us Rebuild

October 29, 2024

One year ago, on October 10th, I had the privilege of becoming CEO and President of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. As I reflect on the past year, I have two simple words to say: Thank You.

Thank you to our members, Edmonton’s business community, and our revitalized (and growing) executive team. With your support, the Chamber has undergone a profound transformation, marked by a dynamic rebranding that goes far beyond a new logo or website design.

We’ve changed the Chamber’s story.

Chamber Sr Team

This year, we built a fresh, visionary leadership team with the talent, passion, and dedication to make the Chamber the first call businesses make—whether they're established here, arriving soon, or expanding beyond Edmonton.

Next, we are more focused than ever on growing our membership, amplifying our voice, and advocating for business interests at every level of government. Our enhanced communications team is connecting our members with each other and the public in powerful new ways as we tell the Chamber’s story.

And this is just the beginning.

The strides we’ve made are setting the stage for an even brighter future. We’re committed to improving education and professional development for businesses, particularly small businesses, helping them scale and succeed.

While Edmonton’s World Trade Centre serves as our physical headquarters, we are working to turn the “world trade centre” concept into a living hub for global business. We want to assist local companies in reaching broader markets, expanding their horizons on the world stage. In the coming months, we’ll be gathering data—both numbers and stories—to measure our impact and identify how we can serve our community even better.

But we’re not all business, all the time.

Our signature events are more vibrant than ever. From our popular Coffee with the Chamber series, drawing over 300 attendees monthly, to unforgettable gatherings like the recent Golf Tournament and our annual Chamber Ball, we’re committed to bringing people together to connect and celebrate.

Chamber members are among the most influential voices in Edmonton. Policymakers care about what we think. At the end of October, we’ll proudly host Premier Danielle Smith for her State of the Province address to our members.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

The hard work of the past year will continue into the next as we ensure that membership in the Edmonton Chamber is the most valuable investment a business can make in Edmonton.

Together, we’re rebuilding the Chamber to be the heartbeat of Edmonton’s business community—and the future looks bright.

Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your belief in our shared vision.
